Notable Events

During the Intrepid's shakedown cruise, then Lt. JG Harris was among the first to respond to the explosion in the Galley. He was able to re-configure a slip portal to seal off a hole in a bulkhead that was venting atmosphere, saving several lives in the process. He called for the evacuation and quarantine of the bio-science lab, and re-directed the venting bulkhead hole to the lab, which could withstand the loss of atmosphere while sealed for quarantine.

Nate Harris was born to wealthy movie mogul Zack Harris and his starlet wife Maurissa. He was pampered, chauffeured, nannied and generally spoiled throughout his childhood, which is why it came as such a shock to everyone who knew him that, upon graduating from Beverly Hills High School he applied to the GSAcademy. In his Valedictorian speech, he left the crowd agape as he extolled the virtues of serving country and planet in ways that would also benefit human and puppet kind alike. Prior to the class announcement, no one really even realized he was in the running for Valedictorian. Nate's super power seemed to be the ability to stand in the center of the spotlight and remain completely invisible. Everyone knew who he was, but no one knew him. In his speech, he condemned a social structure that separated brain from jock, rich from poor and human from puppet. Most of those present assumed this was the start of his political career, which is why his application to the GSAcademy was such a surprise. While not the top of his class at the Academy, Nate held his own, and did graduate with honors for his thesis on a bio-organic inspired logic algorithm that actually enabled computer systems to better anticipate human/puppet needs and behavior for the automation of many staffing issues. In essence, he created a computerized HR system that anticipated and compensated for many variables that would otherwise have been ignored by a conventional computer system. Nate spent the two years between his graduation and the launch of the Intrepid working with GSC Computer systems techs to develop and integrate his theories into a functional system that has been integrated into the Intrepid and will be used on future IPV vessels. His contributions would have landed him a position heading a team with GSC Development, but he requested the position on the Intrepid. He claimed it was to monitor the systems in action over a long period of time.
