We can't really 'protect' the scripts here, so this will likely be the only one released in this manner BEFORE shooting, but it's just the first draft.
IN WHITE:
The sound of slow motion, heavy breathing. Someone is
running.
FADE IN:
EXT. ICE PLANET ZERO - MORNING
Captain William Taggart FINN is running, in slow motion,
across the snow blown plain. Behind him, the light of laser
fire erupts from an unknown source. FINN is hit and tumbles
forward into the snow, motionless.
INT. IPV INTREPID - BRIDGE - MOMENTS LATER
The ship is rocked by opposing fire. Lieutenant OLIVER
Buckles is in the command chair listening to First Officer
Elaine BARRETT over the comm.
BARRETT (O.S.)
Captain Finn is down! I repeat,
Captain Finn is down! Get us out of --
Static signals the end of communications.
PENNY
Lieutenant Buckles, they've taken
out communications.
OLIVER
Raumschiff! Get them out of there!
Dr. Nichols, prepare for incoming--
RAUMSCHIFF (O.S.)
I can't get a portal lock on them,
sir!
OLIVER
Keep trying!
RIGG
Sir, primary weapons are back on
line.
OLIVER
(pause, then very
bloodthirsty)
Blow them out of the sky.

OPENING CREDITS
FADE TO WHITE
SUPERIMPOSE: Three Years Earlier
EXT. ORBITAL RESUPPLY STATION FIVE
The IPV INTREPID is docked at ORS5, in orbit around Earth.
As the camera closes in the voice over starts, and we do a
long, panning shot of the ship.
OLIVER (V.O.)
Dear Sarah, I know it's only been
two days since we saw each other
last, but I miss you already. I
boarded the Intrepid a day and a
half ago at the Orbital Resupply
Station, and I'm already amazed at
how well the crew works together.
Being the new guy is going to be
difficult, but finding my place in
this well oiled machine shouldn't be
hard at all.
INT. IPV INTREPID - BRIDGE
Captain FINN is in the command seat. Throughout the voice
over, he checks control panels, signs off on things brought
to him by Yeomen and generally looks in charge.
OLIVER (V.O.)
Captain Finn is inspiring. The way
he commands the crew, and keeps things
running... it's like he knows what's
going on everywhere on the ship at
all times. But then, I guess that's
his job.
INT. IPV INTREPID - LIFT
Commander BARRETT is looking at a digital readout of something
as floor lights go by. Yes, this is a turbolift scene.
OLIVER (V.O.)
Commander Barrett is really intense.
She's a scientist, so it makes sense
that she'd be first officer on an
exploration vessel. I'm sort of
glad I pulled the Intrepid. She's
the first vessel of her class
outfitted for exploration. The other
two are primarily military vessels.
INT. IPV INTREPID - BRIDGE
BARRETT emerges from the lift and crosses to the ops station,
where PENNY sits. BARRETT hands PENNY the data device, and
they both go over it.
OLIVER (V.O.)
I'm not the only new member of the
bridge crew, though. Lieutenant Day
transferred over from our sister
ship, the Bunraku. Penny's supposed
to be the best pilot in the fleet.
Lieutennant HARRIS emerges from the lift and makes his way
to the Ops station where he starts doing pre-flight checks.
OLIVER (V.O.)
And then there's Nate Harris. He
runs ship's operations, and he's
also my cabin-mate. All of the good
ship gossip comes from Nate, and
apparently he organizes the crew's
weekly card games.
Major RIGG enters from the other lift and sits at his station.
OLIVER (V.O.)
Now, where Commander Barret is intense
in a scientific way, Major Rigg is
intense in a "I will cut out your
heart and slam it with a frying pan
until it stops beating" sort of way.
Granted, he is the ships security
and tactical officer, but he makes
me nervous... you know I've never
been one for violence.
The camera pulls back to reveal all of the bridge crew in
their positions.
FINN
Ensign Buckles, do we have clearance
to disengage from O.R.S.?
Close-up on OLIVER.
OLIVER
We do sir.
FINN
Then let's get this show on the
road...
EXT. IPV INTREPID
The INTREPID pulls away from the ORV and positions itself to
depart. The FELT Matrix unfurls, and the ship streaks off
into space.
