Duty Uniform
The IPV Duty Uniform consists of a jacket, black slacks and black boots.
The jacket is straight cut, with a stand-up collar and set-in sleeves topped with piping. The zipper(?) is located slightly to the left of midline; the collar sports a notch at the same location.
The jacket is charcoal gray for Navy officers with dark shoulder piping. Marines have dark gray jackets with lighter shoulder piping.
Insignia
- Rank pips on a strip of contrasting cloth (dark for Navy, light for Marines) on the right upper chest
- Name patch below the rank pips
- Communicator button is usually attached to the cuff on the non-dominant hand
Division Piping
Piping along the top of the right shoulder, below the right side of the collar and extending down the right panel of the jacket is color-coded to identify the primary division of Navy personnel.
Piping is also present along both sides of the cuff of both sleeves. For most crew, this is a single strip in the same primary division color. For crew with dual duty assignments, an additional piece of piping is present at the top of the cuffs.
